Eriyoma "Remi" Ewharekuko, MSW, LCSWA

Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate

Remi is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing person-in environment centered mental health services to Children ages (6-12), Adolescents (13-17), and Adults. She is an independent contractor not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however she practices under the supervision of her approved LCSW supervisor. She is independently insured and manages her own practice. Remi contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.

Remi obtained her Bachelors from University of Missouri Columbia. She then went on to receive her Master of Social Work from Saint Louis University in Missouri.

Remi specializes in DBT and Play Therapy. She uses a verity of modalities in her practice including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Trauma-Focused interventions. She uses trauma-informed and evidence based practices to address the client's individual complexity when providing therapy.

Remi uses a variety of therapeutic interventions such as humanistic/self-determination, behaviorism, and psychodynamic theory. The humanistic/self-determination theory ensures she helps her clients achieve their highest potential. It redirects energy spent on rumination and negative behaviors and applies them to self-growth and self-actualization. This theory is client-centered- meaning the client controls most of the session, increasing their autonomy, competency, and psychological readiness. Behaviorism is based on the belief that behavior is learned and has continued because it serves a purpose. In this theory, Remi validate learned behaviors and provide opportunities to learn new, more adaptable behaviors and tools for the individual success of the client. The psychodynamic theory allows her to recognize the history in her client’s perspective and its roots. Using this theory, Remi can examine potential unconscious motivations and beliefs so that healing can occur. She believes these theories help her to end generational curses while providing insights into one’s self.

Remi accepts Aetna, BCBS, CBHA, Cardinal Innovations Medicaid, Medcost, MHN, NC Health Choice, UHC, Out of Network and Self Pay.

Her office hours are Monday through Friday by appointment only.  Currently she is using a teletherapy platform to ensure safety for her clients from COVID until she can return to in person therapy in the office setting.
