Christian Cagle, MSW, LCSWA

Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate

Christian is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing person-centered mental health services primarily to adolescents and adults. He is an independent contractor not an employee, thus he is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however, he practices under the supervision of his approved LCSW supervisor. He is independently insured and manages his own practice. Christian contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.

Christian obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology along with a minor in Biology from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro (UNCG). He then went on to receive a Master’s in Social Work at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (UNC) with a focus on Direct Clinical Practice.

Christian believes that therapy is a collaborative effort between the individuals and the therapist. Change is possible with understanding and empathy, and the right tools. When a client is an active participant in their treatment and is committed to applying the knowledge gained through their therapy session to life, positive and powerful changes can happen.

Christian has a background in behavioral health and community-based treatment facilities specifically providing intensive outpatient services. Christian has engaged adolescents and adults in individual, group, and family therapy and has experience in addressing mental health and behavioral needs such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, PTSD, trauma, and substance abuse. He serves clients from age 12 through adulthood and has a special interest in young adults and the LGBTQ+ community. Christian works to empower clients, build insight, and provide practical tools for clients to use. He incorporates mindfulness activities in sessions and believes in a mind-body balance.

Christian uses a variety of therapeutic interventions depending on the client’s needs. Among the solution-oriented treatments he draws from are Traditional Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Christian is part of the MACS DBT team and is being trained and supervised in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Christian has worked with clients of all ages from a variety of backgrounds. His style is very accepting, non-judgmental, and empathetic. He truly believes in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship and works hard to build his clients' trust. He works collaboratively with the client to develop and work toward goals together.

Christian accepts Aetna, BCBS, CBHA, Medcost, MHN,  Out of Network, and Self Pay.

His office hours are Monday - Saturday by appointment only.
