Christian Cagle, MSW, LCSWA

Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate

Christian is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing person-centered mental health services primarily to adolescents and adults. He is an independent contractor not an employee, thus he is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however, he practices under the supervision of his approved LCSW supervisor. He is independently insured and manages his own practice. Christian contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.

Christian obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology along with a minor in Biology from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro (UNCG). He then went on to receive a Master’s in Social Work at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (UNC) with a focus on Direct Clinical Practice. Christian has a background in behavioral health practice and community-based treatment facilities specifically providing intensive outpatient services and individual therapy.

Christian's practice is focused on adolescents (11+) and adults by providing individual, group, and family therapy. He has experience & training in addressing mental health and behavioral needs such as Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal ideation, PTSD, Trauma, and Substance Abuse as well as Life Transition Issues and Family Functioning and Dynamics. Christian has a special interest in young adults and the LGBTQ+ community and facilitates acceptance and safety in his practice.

 

Christian uses a variety of therapeutic interventions depending on the client’s needs. Among the solution-oriented treatments he draws from are Traditional Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Christian is part of the MACS DBT team and provides both individual and group Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  He is also the clinical lead of the LGBTQ+ Group at MACS. His goal is to be EMDR trained in the future to extend more services to his clients.

Christian works to empower clients, build insight, and provide practical tools for clients to use. He incorporates mindfulness activities in sessions and believes in a mind-body balance. 

Therapy is a collaborative effort between the individuals and the therapist which Christian works diligently to support. When a client is an active participant in their treatment and is committed to applying the knowledge gained through their therapy session to life, positive and powerful changes can happen. Clients describe Christian as trustworthy, understanding, inclusive and empathetic all while providing the right tools to attain their goals

Christian accepts Aetna, BCBS, Medcost, MHN, Out of Network, and Self Pay.

Christian sees clients Virtually throughout NC on Monday- Saturday and has afterschool and evening availability.
