Alexis McInnis, MSW, LCSWA

Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate

Alexis McInnis is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing mental health services to Children ages (9-12), Adolescents (13-17), and Adults. She is an independent contractor not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however she practices under the supervision of her approved LCSW supervisor. She is independently insured and manages her own practice. Alexis contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.

Alexis earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2020 and a master’s degree in Social Work in 2022, both from Winthrop University. She strives to assist others with challenging life changes by building positive and strong therapeutic relationships. By collaborating with clients on building these relationships, she believes that each client has the ability to be successful in their therapeutic journey. Alexis works diligently to assist every client in reaching their personal goals by providing a safe, judgement-free environment for anyone who walks through the door.

 

Alexis uses a variety of therapeutic interventions based on each client’s unique needs. She is skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based interventions, as well as utilizing Trauma-Informed approaches to talk therapy when needed. Alexis is also recently trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). 

Alexis has a background in private practice settings, as well as experience in university counseling centers, offering individual therapy services. She is experienced in working with children, teens, adults, members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals preparing for or have received gastric bypass surgery, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, confidence issues, and those who may be experiencing difficult life changes.
