Jasmine Townsend, MSW, LCSWA
Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate
Jasmine Townsend is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) who works with adolescents (13-17) and adults. She is an independent contractor not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however, she practices under the supervision of her approved LCSW supervisor. She is independently insured and manages his own practice. Jasmine contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.
Jasmine earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Psychology from Winston Salem State University, then earned a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Jasmine promotes person-centered planning and uses interventions unique to individual needs. Her clinical practice is driven by Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral, and Systems theories. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Strength-Based, Mindfulness, and Trauma-Informed Approaches.
Her previous experience includes working with adolescents and adults dually diagnosed with Intellectual disabilities and mental illness across multiples settings. Jasmine has special interest in working with Autistic clients and those with neurodiversity. She has clinical experience working in hospital and primary care settings with adults with depression, substance use disorders, anxiety, grief and loss, disabilities, and chronic illness. Jasmine is on our Trauma Team and is currently training on several evidence based modalities to incorporate into her Trauma Focused practice. She aims to support individuals to develop coping skills to overcome challenges and promote self-actualization.
In her free time, Jasmine enjoys hiking, being outside in nature, spending time with family, reading, journaling, visiting art galleries, and traveling.
