Elyssa Gorelick MSW, LCSWA

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate

Elyssa Gorelick only sees clients via Teletherapy.

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing mental health services. She is an Independent Contractor, not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however she practices under the supervision of her approved LCSW supervisor.  She is independently insured and manages her own practice. Elyssa contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.

Elyssa received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Education, from the University of South Carolina. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University, where she also completed a specialization in Group Work.

Elyssa has experience in both school and hospital settings, where she has provided individual and group therapy to older teens and adults with a wide range of mental health needs including behavioral issues, trauma, depression, personality disorders, abuse and mood disorders. Elyssa enjoys building strong therapeutic relationships with clients of all backgrounds. She also involves and coordinates care with family and prescribers when appropriate. Elyssa focuses on empowering clients to develop coping skills and practical tools for creating healthier and more peaceful lives.

Elyssa uses an eclectic approach, utilizing a variety of modalities, dependent upon the individual needs of her clients. She is skilled in implementing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing, and Trauma Informed Approaches. She has completed basic DBT and is expanding her skills with this model. She believes it is important to provide her clients with psycho-education in order to further empower and support them in their mental health journey. Elyssa values a holistic approach and often incorporates the mind-body connection in her work with clients. She uses a strengths based approach and works with clients to increase their self-compassion and self-worth. Elyssa is passionate about providing an integrative and holistic approach to mental health.

In her free time, Elyssa enjoys spending time with her friends and family, working out, spending time outdoors, and watching movies.
