Daniela Farenga is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) providing mental health services to Adults, Adolescents and Children (5-12). She is an Independent Contractor, not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all apsect of her client's care. She is independently insured and manages her own practice. She contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.
Daniela received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2010. She then went on to receive her Master's Degree and Licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2014.
Daniela provides therapy to Individuals, Couples and Families using a systems based approach whereby family interactions, dynamics and influences are considered while working to resolve all clients' presenting problems. Additionally, Daniela believes in a biopsychosocial model that considers all the aspects of overall functioning.
Daniela utilizes a strengths based approach that highlights each client's unique strengths and how thesecan be used to resolve unwanted distress. This is accomplished through the use of Solution Focused and CBT models of therapy.
As a PREPARE/ENRICH certified therapist, Daniela offers premarital counseling for couples as well as marital counseling services to address issues of communication, relational functioning, lowered intimacy, infidelity and overall diminished functioning within all couple systems. This model has been provded effective in aiding couples nearing separation and/or divorce to reconnect and strengthen their relationship.
While working with Adolescents and Children, Daniela focuses on creating a safe, nurturing placed where clients will feel comfortable interacting with her. This is accomplished through the use of Play Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Client Centered approaches that can address issues of abuse, trauma, behavioral disorders, adjustment issues, grief and loss work, self-esteem building, and coping skills training.
Daniela has been practicing in the mental health profession in a variety of settings. Previous settings include as an inpatient therapist for Carolina's Medical System in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit and as a Marriage and Family Therapist at Pfeiffer University's Institute for Marriage and Family Therapy. She has experience working with clients with a wide array of issues including but not limited to trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, excessive worry, infidelity, separation and/or divorce, heightened stress, somatic complaints, the effects of medical issues, grief and loss, behavioral problems, and crisis intervention.
Daniela currently lives and practices in Charlotte, NC. Her hobbies include reading, paper crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. She is a volunteer with several organizations in the Charlotte area and enjoys giving time back to her community.
