Julie Dick is Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA). She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte in 2011. She then continued on to receive her Master in Social Work in 2016 from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Julie is an Independent Contractor, not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all apsect of her client's care. She is independently insured and manages her own practice. She contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.
Julie has experience working in trauma and grief with multiple age groups of adults, adolescents, children, and families. Her previous work was at a pediatric intensive care unit providing support to families in crisis. She also has experience working with culturally diverse clients and has had the opportunity to work within Charlotte’s vibrant refugee community.
Julie uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma focused CBT. She specializes in adjustment disorders, behavioral disorders, abuse/neglect, trauma, grief, and traumatic grief. She also provides in- home therapy services.
Julie utilizes biopsychosocial and strength based approaches in her work. She believes in focusing on the strength and resiliency that can be found in everyone. She also believes in trying to utilize holistic approaches such as mindfulness and breathing techniques into her work. Julie strives to provide a welcoming and open environment for all her clients.
Julie enjoys spending her free time with her friends and her pit-mix, Lila. She also enjoys traveling extensively, reading, and hiking.
