Megan Pieterick is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) providing mental health services to Adolescents (13-17), and Adults, and has a special interest in young adults, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities. She is an Independent Contractor, not an employee, thus is individually responsible for all aspects of client care. However, she practices under the supervision of her approved LCMHC supervisor. She is independently insured and manages her own practice. Megan contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.

Megan earned her Master of Arts in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2021.

Megan has provided both talk and art therapy in settings ranging from community-based art studios to private clinics and has experience working with clients struggling with issues such as life transitions, interpersonal issues,, depression, neurodiversity, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, LGBTQIA+ issues, and PTSD.

She believes that creative expression is a powerful tool for self-exploration and understanding, and that anyone, regardless of age or skill level, can benefit from using art to express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Megan utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches such as person-centered theory, which emphasizes an empathetic, nonjudgmental, unconditionally positive client-therapist relationship; relational-cultural theory, which explores the human need for connection and seeks to examine and strengthen relationships with ourselves, others, and our culture; and narrative theory, which seeks to explore the story we tell ourselves about ourselves, how it affects the way we live our lives, and how we can shift that narrative towards one of growth and wellness.

Megan accepts Self Pay, OON, BCBS, Aetna, Medcost and CBHA.
