Alexis Godley, MSW, LCSWA

Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate

Alexis is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing person-in environment centered mental health services to Children ages (3-12), Adolescents (13-17), and Adults. She is an independent contractor not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however she practices under the supervision of her approved LCSW supervisor. She is independently insured and manages her own practice. Alexis contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.

 

Alexis obtained her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC. Alexis then went on to receive her Master of Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.

 

Alexis has a background providing clinical social work services in foster care, school-based treatment, and community mental health settings. Alexis has engaged in clinical practices with preschool and school-aged children through her experience providing mental health services in school and outpatient settings (Individual and Group Therapy). She has been able to assist her clients with addressing various mental health and behavioral needs such as, ADHD/ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Anxiety, Aggression, Suicidal Ideation, defiance, parental and behavioral management, and trauma.

 

Alexis uses a variety of therapeutic interventions based on the needs of her clients. Including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Play Therapy, Art Therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, talk therapy, as well as incorporating trauma narratives from Trauma-informed approaches. Alexis enjoys working with her clients to find solutions and assist them in learning how to find happiness and a sense of control of their lives. Alexis looks to find creative ways to build therapeutic relationships with her clients through their therapeutic journey. She is passionate about helping her clients explore their thoughts and feelings and assist them in gaining insight through psychoeducation. Alexis hopes to one day become fully certified in Play Therapy so that she can continue to provide her clients with optimum care.

Alexis accepts Aetna, BCBS, CBHA, Cardinal Innovations Medicaid, Medcost, MHN, NC Health Choice, UHC, Out of Network and Self Pay.

Her office hours are Wednesday and Saturday by appointment only and she will be going full time soon.
