Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate
Abrianna is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) providing person-in environment centered mental health services to a wide variety of populations including Children ages (3-12), Adolescents (13-17) and Couples, Families and Adults. She is an independent contractor not an employee, thus she is individually responsible for all aspects of client care, however she practices under the supervision of her approved LCSW supervisor. She is independently insured and manages her own practice. Abrianna contracts with MACS PLLC for marketing, billing, and office space.
Abrianna received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, under the umbrella of Child Development and Family Relations in 2015. She then received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC) in 2019.
She has received training in childhood trauma and trauma-informed care. She has worked with children and adolescents for over five years in a variety of settings. These settings include children hospitals, residential treatment facilities, child development programs, and the Department of Social Services (DSS). Abrianna also has specific training in child welfare including working with children who have experienced physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. During this time, she also worked with adults experiencing trauma, a history of abuse and neglect, grief and loss, and mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, family of origin issues and adjustment.
Abrianna has also had education and training on Family Therapy. She provides a safe, controlled environment for members of a family to discuss emotional issues and targeted dynamics while providing interventions and guidance on how to address these issues towards improved functioning. Additionally, she offers Couples Therapy to help couples of all types recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships. Using this modality, clients can make thoughtful decisions and develop skills to rebuild and strengthen their relationship.
Abrianna uses a variety of therapeutic interventions depending on the client’s needs. She utilizes Evidence Based Practices as well as therapeutic play to work with clients as well as psychodynamic and CBT models with those have experienced trauma. She believes that incorporating the family into treatment with the children can be beneficial to the goals of treatment. She enjoys creating strong therapeutic bonds with her clients and developing appropriate coping skills. Abrianna’s goal is to become certified in TF-CBT(Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Play therapy, as well as DBT((Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).
In her free time, Abrianna enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling.
Abrianna accepts Aetna, BCBS, CBHA, Medcost, MHN, Tricare, UHC, Out of Network and Self Pay.
Her office hours are Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment only. Currently she is using a teletherapy platform to ensure safety for her clients from COVID until she can return to in person therapy in the office setting.
